If you are considering a career with the United States Armed Services, particularly a career with the US Army in Brinktown Missouri, you will be required to undergo a series of qualification tests, background checks and paperwork. Most importantly, you will be required to take and pass the military version of an academic entrance exam called the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery or ASVAB for short. In this article I will help you understand the Army ASVAB requirements for enlisting in Brinktown, MO.
The United States Army is the largest of the 5 main military branches which also includes the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard. The army offers many career choices and job opportunities. If you get accepted, and which jobs you qualify for, will ultimately be determined by your ASVAB AFQT and line scores.
The ASVAB is composed of 8 or 9 subtests, depending on the version you take, and will be scored differently depending on what qualification your are attempting to calculate.
In order to qualify for acceptance into the army you will require an AFQT of at least 31. This score is calculated by looking at your results for the following test sections:
- Work Knowledge (WK)
- Paragraph Comprehension (PC)
- Mathematics Knowledge (MK)
- Arithmetic Reasoning AR)
Given that the AFQT is scored out of 99, this is the easiest branch to get into if you are not the academic testing type. Once you qualify for entry into the army itself, you will have to further qualify for your chosen MOS or Military Occupational Specialty.
MOS qualifications are calculated based on your line scores. Depending on your intended field of choice, your line scores will include a different composition of the various ASVAB subtests.
